Can you escape an occupation that starts in your mind?

Physical colonisation and thought control:
Patriarchal structures have been ingrained in women’s thinking for centuries. It is not only the body that is colonised, but above all thought.
The metaphor of an alien invasion is used to represent classic colonial takeovers, except here the ‚possession‘ is of women’s minds (women’s bodies).

Transgenerational transmission refers to the transfer of experiences from members of one generation to members of a subsequent generation, usually an unintentional, often unconscious and not infrequently unintentional process.

GENERATION TRANSMISSION, PICTURED was a collaborative project between Uschi Siebauer, Nana Dix and Anja Frers.  Uschi Siebauer’s pictures can be seen on their own under the title REMIX 1900.

Legs, arms, torso and head, the individual anatomical parts of a female person, are stamped together to form a person using the linocut process.
